that's right. the fire alarms in our building went off and hey... they're still on. it appears as though there is a malfunction? well.. they just stopped, and i won't say anything, cause when i opened my mouth after they had just stopped and everyone was heading back inside, they started right up again.

MOM'S THE BIG 50
yep, that's right. mom's the big 50 today. sounds like she had a good birthday, too. she's not one to celebrate with a huge party and stuff, but i guess her friends at work gave her a nice birthday. plus, she says she got the best birthday present of all. one of her friends was pregnant and had to have her labor induced. she decided to have her baby this morning so her baby and mom could share birthdays.
also very happy birthdays to my good friends caiti and chris, who also share this day. the best to you.
happy birthday mommy! thanks for being the best mommy a kid could ever hope or wish to have. i love you :D

LONG CLASS
ugh. today's class was extremely long. i should've known better than to take two almost four hour classes from the professor who loves to ramble on and on. at least there are a few familiar faces. i hope to god that i can make it through the semester. it doesn't help that i'm already ready for semester to be over, and it just started this week. god help me make it through this.
this class, psychology of learning, started out quite unlike any class i have encountered thus far. it is a seminar, and for one, when we received the syllabus, there were no assignments or due dates. furthermore, all the assignments, grade weights, and anything else that might be on a syllabus were left to be announced. we spent the better part of the class figuring out what material we want to cover in the class and what we want to learn about. i guess that's good, since it's a learning class. we'll have to see how it goes. already have reading and homework. ick.

NIGHT CLASS AND SOME NEW PEOPLE
went to class tonight. the guys upstairs are in my class. the professor looks like the guy who plays gandolf, not gandolf, but the guy that plays him, especially from the side. he's kinda soft spoken. there's a guy that sits to my right that from the back looks like robbie teller. from the front, he looks nothing like him, but there's something about the back of his head that reminded me of him. there's an older lady in the class. she has a moustache and constantly moves her leg up and down, kinda like johnny. she has her big ol' walker and cane with her as well as her suitcase. she doesn't like president bush and she wants people to go out and vote him outta office. there were two out of three ta's there tonight. one was nerdy, she wore her pants all high with her shirt tucked in and had some hecka big glasses. she looked all ga-ga eyed at the prof., mr. gandolf, and acted like teacher's pet. the other ta looked like a lost secretary who didn't know what to do. she would try to help, but didn't seem to really know what she was doing. i think she was trying too hard.
but hey, there're no exams and most importantly NO TEXTBOOKS! THANK GOD! after spending $150 on books today with one more class to buy books for, i'm poor again... and that's with february housing payment coming up as well as two more after that. oh no... i just might have to find me a summer job to survive...

SECOND CLASS AND EXPENSIVE BOOKS
ick, ick, and more ick. just got back from buying books for two of my classes and it was $36 for a stupid reader at the copy shop and another $112 for two anthro books from northlight. but hey, i got a $10 gift certificate for spending a total of over $150 at northlight bookstore. yay, yay. whatever. they should've just taken the $10 off my total right then and there, the cheap bastards! someday bookstores will all pay for ripping off poor helpless college students. thanks to bri for taking me by to get my books. now i get to read 5 articles before next week's class. ick again. :P
psyc 307: class was class. lots of familiar faces, not only from psyc 306, but from some of my other classes as well. it was very similar to 306. same professor, so i guess that shouldn't be a big surprise. however, looks like this class might be at least a little bit more interesting and not as boring, as he promised we'd have more class discussion and there'd be less lecture, lecture, lecture. thank god for those evaluations.
now i'm eating a frozen pizza i warmed up in the microwave and waiting around till my next class, the person in society. if luck is on my side, he'll let us out early since it's the first night and we won't have to buy a heck of an expensive book. god, i still need to buy books for two more classes. i'm finally beginning to understand the whole starving college student concept...
latest teachings... books for school are not only expensive, they are the devil!
song lyric/quote of the moment... "existence precedes essence."

FIRST CLASS
i have just survived my first class of the semester--world prehistory. same professor as emergence of civilizations. looks to be a good class. sounds like more discussion instead of just lecture this time. here's a little blip of what the class is all about:
"World Prehistory" is an upper division undergraduate course in Anthropology designed to fill the "Archaeology" area requirement for that major. It combines a comprehensive overview of the study of human cultures from the earliest production of stone tools to the emergence of complex, state-based societies, with an upper division introduction to some of the issues, methodologies, theoretical debates, and intellectual challenges of modern prehistoric archaeology.
we'll see how it goes.
next class is at 1pm. wish me luck.

WAKING UP EARLY
after being programmed to waking up around 8 or 8:30am the last couple of weeks, i am still conditioned to wake up at this time, and this morning was no different, when i woke up around 8:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. however, today was different; today i woke up alone. there was nobody there to smile at and say "good morning. i love you," to. i fear the mornings to come...
there must be something i can do, to keep my mind active and forget for the time being. sometimes this is the hardest thing to do.
today is a new day, and i should be thankful, for i am well. today means yesterday has gone and past. one day down. one less day to spend alone. one day closer to my love.

END OF BREAK AND COMING BACK TO SCHOOL
yesterday was the end of winter break and the day of moving back up here to school. boo! sob sob.
i can without a doubt say that this winter break has been the highlight of all winter breaks in my life thus far. the reason? my love and my life. waking up every morning to the love of my life and spending every day with this person has been pure heaven. i wish there was nothing to separate us and i long for this day to come.
i can't wait for school to actually begin. for one, it'll give me something to keep busy with. plus, the sooner it starts, the sooner it'll be over and i can return to the arms of my love.
good to see my friends again.
we can make it. we must...
latest teachings... my love grows every day that passes...

SADNESS
she doesn't love me anymore. i fear she has found a replacement... or maybe four, and already; this soon. she never even gave me her screenname. i bet she loves kevin more than she loves me. oh wait, she doesn't love me anymore. she probably likes him more than she likes me then. it brings me enormous grief. it brings me great sadness. :(
boo! :(
boo! :(

(NICE DREAM)
i am on an airplane, but it could be a bus. the pilot/driver is the only other person on the plane with me. everyone else has packed their stuff and already gone to the dance hall. i finally finish putting my stuff in the plane and organizing it neatly. the pilot is also ready to leave. she tells me that if i want, she'll give me a ride over to the hall if i wait for her to lock up the plane. i wait.
i am entering the dance hall through the side door. there is a lady with long blonde hair that almost glows. i open the door for her and she tells me to enter before her. i refuse and we stand there for a while. i switch sides to let her pass, but i catch a strand of her beautiful hair between my hand and the open door. i apologize and she finally enters. i follow her in. the room is fairly large with a stage in the front. there are a lot of people standing around talking. there are chairs around the walls. i feel as though i've been here before. my sister emily and a couple of her friends are there. she talks to me for a bit. the people are gettiing ready to dance, but in a filled square. there are lots of people. it is almost like they are waiting around to follow the moves of someone on stage, much like an exercise class. they then break up and a couple starts to dance together. meanwhile, i am wandering around the hall. i see the lady with the blonde hair. i am going to dance. i take off my jewelry and shoes to dance. i drop my necklaces and bracelets. she helps me pick them up. i hold them toward her and she takes a necklace from me, thanking me. i go to a spot in the back and sit down. for some reason i have two pairs of shoes with me. i put my necklaces and bracelets in them and then take my phone out of my pocket and put it in one of the shoes. i am all ready, and i look for the lady with the blonde hair...
i wake up and all i have left is this...
