GRADE

not to brag or anything, but i got the highest grade (45) on my forensic anthro presentation (on kennewick man) and the highest grade in the class. i'm not even an anthro major. :P but hey, i did spend quite a bit of time working on my presentation, and i also went to go talk to her about it a couple of times (one time being about an hour). so either one of three things took place; the presentation wasn't all that bad and actually quite good, she saw that i put in the effort, or it was my stunning charm. ;)

ANOTHER ONE DOWN. ONE TO GO.

yep, i just got out of my final for my night class. i missed a handful t/f and matching, but i'm not too worried seeing as she said last night's class had about an average of 47.5 out of a total of 50.

welp, that's three down and one more to go. my goal is to hug all my profs. ;) i mean, who said you couldn't hug your professors?? what were they thinking... i think she liked that i made cookies, but she had to share them with her 5 TAs.

ALAS...

i gave her a hug. then i ran out...

two down with two more to go still and yet i feel accomplished.

HOLIDAY PARTIES

so, i think the parties went well today. that is, after the first 10 or so minutes that i was sitting alone at the anthro club party. but yeah, there was lots of pizza and cookies and then cookie came by. the usual club members were all there as well as the anthro staff (even though they had the dean's party as well), and i went photo crazy and took pictures until everyone was tired of having their picture taken. we had our white elephant gift exchange. i took a duct tape wallet and received a 5" black and white television that also serves as an am/fm radio. then, the group party went well. wendy brought the plate of cookies i made up and the pumpkin and egg nog ice cream and laura brought lemonade and then they had fruit salad that was pretty good. it was the last group of the semester and i won't be able to go next semester since i'll have karin's class (one of the two i'm taking).

got my jar of sauce today. karin said that her mom really liked it and that her brother liked it too, even though he only likes homemade foods? she said she hasn't tried it, but to let her know if it's good.

today was a sad day in my life and will always hold a special place in my heart. yes, it was the final day of victor's class. i took him the book he had let me borrow at the beginning of the semester and some snickerdoodles. i gave him a hug and we embraced for several seconds. we had our "moment" and it shall be nevermore. goodbye victor. i shall never forget you or sitting through your classes.

COOKIE MAKING AND CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

so, this morning i got up and had to clean the kitchen, which was a stinking mess. it was absolutely disgusting. last night before i went to bed, i was angry and hated everyone for contributing to such a big nasty unclean mess. i was hoping to wake up this morning and see that the kitchen fairy came during the night, but it was just as bad as when i went to bed. so, after cleaning, i made snickerdoodles and moon rock cookies. i was going to make peanut butter cookies too, but then decided that i probably made enough cookies for both anthro club and group with some left over for us to eat. plus, i need to make some cookies for next week for a pot luck for one of my classes.

wendy had to sew a couple of buttons back on her jacket. i never thought that i would be showing someone else how to knot thread or finish off some hand sewing. she got mad at me because i sewed on one of the buttons. she did the other one though.

i walked over to the bookstore to pick up a few christmas gifts. i found stuff for several people. i won't mention here what they are or who they are for. you'll have to all wait for christmas... ;)

yesterday was my grandma's birthday, so happy birthday grandma! sunday was shar's birthday, so happy birthday shar!

last night in class our professor took us through the dying experience. boy was that powerful. and sad. whoa. it made us all realize what the most important things are in our lives...the people we love.

welp (borrowed that from the back of several of my love's photos from "friends"), that's the latest of what's been going on around here.

THANK GOD THAT'S OVER!

i am so thankful that those 12 minutes, not to mention all that time waiting (my presentation was the last one today, 7 total) are over and history now. well, it did help that afterward she told me that i did a good job.

but now i'm exhausted and i'm ditching my 10am class.

PRESENTATION

i am ready... i think.

MORE ICE CREAM

so, we went to this ice cream shop last night with yael and ron in sebastopol called screaming mimi's. boy was it expensive, but i got a cool little spoon. ;)

I WISHED UPON A FALLING STAR...

today wendy and i went out in search of something to eat. we went by north light and then ended up getting sandwiches and salads at oliver's. a bit later, we both felt like egg nog ice cream and so we walked over to coldstone, but they still didn't have any there. so we decided to go to safeway and found it on sale, so we ended up getting egg nog ice cream and another ice cream as well. then, since wendy didn't have her card with her, i applied for one so we could get the discount. now i have a safeway card.

when we got back, i got a call from nicole and so i went over to help her put the flyers back up on the bulletin board. it looks nice and colorful now. all we need is to replace the poster with the definitions of the four anthropology categories. archaeology was spelled wrong. someone spelled it archeology. i'll have to pick me up a jar of sauce. the lacrosse team is selling it. then i can have some spaghetti.

as i was walking back afterward, i saw a shooting/falling star. it was pretty large and fell about a third across the sky. i made sure to make a good long wish on that one. i wasn't going to miss out on a wish coming from a shooting star as great as that one... if only my wish will come true. ;)

i found a picture online of a boy who looks kinda like my love, and guess what? his name is kevin too! don't believe me? go here. well, maybe he doesn't look that much like my love... my love doesn't have a shirt like that and he doesn't have spiky hair like that boy.

BACK WITH THREE MORE WEEKS TO GO

i hope everyone had a very happy thanksgiving. we had four all together. three, three days in a row beginning thursday and ending on saturday. whew, got through them all without having to buy bigger pants.

i made it back up here to school, and in good time, considering the last couple of times riding the train. anyways, 17 or 18 more days to go till my love comes and rescues me from the mean evil castle.

i'm sad. wendy won't be back till tomorrow. :(

8 'O CLOCK BREAK AND VACATION

so, she let us out early tonight, which was very kind indeed. we got our quizzes back, got the review for the final, but then she said she wants us to have a relaxing weekend without studying for the final. she says we'll have plenty of time to study later. we talked about older adulthood and she said to ask our grandparents, "hey, did you have premarital sex?" hahaha! i wonder if anyone's going to ask that question.

well, so i walked back from class with my friend erin, who's also in my social psy class. we have a grand ol' time talking smack about other people in our class (social psy). ahh... it reminds me back to the days when julie, josh, and i would sit on the couch in the library and make up mean evil haikus about our students we couldn't stand and then share them with vira... yep, those were the good ol' days indeed...

i have to wake up extremely early (6am) tomorrow morning since i'm leaving early to see my love so we can head on down to porterville... wish me luck riding the train...

1 HR. LESS THAN A DAY.

so, i woke up kinda early this morning for not having my 8am class. i got dressed, checked my mail, and since i had a blue claim ticket for my CDRs i ordered from ebay, i walked to the post office. well, on my way to the post office, i was reading the housing bulletin and what did i find? i found my box number as one of the winning numbers. so, after picking up my package from the post office, i swung by the housing offices (which is right there close by) and told them i had a winning box number. after showing them some ID, i got to choose either a ssu seatshirt or one of three mystery bags. well, since it's been pretty cold lately and seeing as i could never afford an ssu sweatshirt from the bookstore, i chose the sweatshirt, regular price $36.99. so see, it pays to read the housing bulletin. and they even have nice prizes, not something dinky, like a pencil. :P

so, after this, by now my hands were all full. so i made my way up to my anthro prof's office and spent about an hour in there showing her my powerpoint presentation. so mostly it was her giving me ideas and suggestions of what to do to focus more on the forensic aspects, tying it to what we've learned in the class. but now i feel better about it and that i'm heading in the right direction. i just needed a little guidance... and a lot of explaining...

so, yeah, since i was in there for an hour, i missed saying bye to wendy. :'( now i won't see her for a whole week... but at least she gets to see her favorite band everclear while she's at home...

made it through one of my two classes this week. only one to go tonight. hopefully it goes well...

latest teachings... just as i should not be riding amtrak anymore, i should not go to ameci's anymore. every time i go, i have to wait a super long time...

BACK FOR A DAY BUT MAYBE THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE TRAVELING FOR ME FOR A WHILE...

yeah, so my train was delayed again tonight. an hour and 45 minutes. not as bad as last time, but still... bad enough. especially since it was freezing cold outside. well, so i asked the train conductor why the train was delayed and all he said was because they were waiting for the 718 train to go by. wow, big help that was. there's no way that there was a 1 hour 45 minute delay waiting for the 718 train, which actually got there around the time it was supposed to just a little after 7pm. anyways, so i asked a guy why the train was delayed and he said that they hit some debris near stockton and that it ruined something on the bottom of the train so they had to pull off and fix it and they were delayed about 30 minutes. well, this put them off schedule, so they had to wait for a train to pass and then had to wait for another train, probably the 718 train, to pass. so yeah, maybe i shouldn't do anymore traveling for a while. especially since on top of that, i just barely made the amtrak bus on thursday... thank god i made it there just in time. i don't know what i would've done...

anyways, this weekend was fun. lots of good stuff--talent show and thanksgiving dinner at church, spongebob movie with my love, holiday spice pepsi that tastes just like pepsi itself, hearing from alex, uncle rusty's granddaughter's birthday party, and spending time with my love...

so, i'll be leaving again on wednesday morning, so wish me luck on my trip...

WHY MY TRAIN WAS DELAYED

Woman dies as train hits pickup

Witness says victim drove past crossing arm, into path of Amtrak train in Fresno.

By Pablo Lopez / The Fresno Bee

(Updated Tuesday, November 9, 2004, 6:31 AM)

The wreckage of a Ford F-250 four-door pickup that was struck by a northbound Amtrak train at Palm and Dakota avenues in central Fresno rests in a vacant lot, about 50 yards from the point of impact, Monday afternoon. The female driver of the pickup died at the scene of the collision.
Kurt Hegre / The Fresno Bee

A woman was killed Monday afternoon when the pickup she was driving collided with an Amtrak train at Dakota and Palm avenues in central Fresno.

The woman, traveling north on Palm Avenue in a Ford F-250 four-door pickup, ignored warning lights and bells and drove around the train's crossing arm, California Highway Patrol officer Jose Acosta said.

The northbound Amtrak train sounded its horn before it entered the intersection, Acosta said.

Unable to stop, the train slammed into the truck, pushing it through the crossing arm and warning lights on the west side of Palm Avenue.

The mangled pickup ended up in a dirt lot about 50 yards from the point of impact. The crossing arm and warning light pole were nearby.

"It looked like a ball off a bat," said Stephen Taylor, 54, of Fresno, who witnessed the collision.

Taylor, traveling south on Palm Avenue, waited behind the crossing arm as warning lights and bells chimed the pending arrival of the train. He said he also heard the train's horn.

He then noticed the northbound pickup moving slowly around the crossing arm.

"The train was going fast and she was going slow, as if she timed it," he said. The train tore apart the truck's undercarriage, Taylor said.

The victim died at the scene, Acosta said.

The train stopped a quarter mile north of the intersection.

Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said no one on the train was injured and the train remained operational.

The northbound train's final destination was Oakland. A new crew took over for the crew that witnessed the traumatic crash, Magliari said.

That train, as well as a southbound Amtrak train headed to Fresno and then to Bakersfield, was delayed temporarily to allow a Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway crew to inspect the tracks at the collision site.

Traffic on Palm Avenue was re-routed away from the tracks until the intersection was cleared of debris and the tracks were inspected.

MY LOVE'S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

well, as y'all know, since you read my previous posts, it's my love's birthday today and was his birthday weekend this past weekend. i didn't get to go see him until friday, but that's cause i went on my field trip to the coroner's office and didn't want to chance making the bus on time. so, i went on friday and we went to wendy's after he picked me up. good ol' wendy's. they have the best chili. ;) my love had to work on friday night, so i got to go with uncle rusty and pat to dinner at sizzler and then we picked up fran to go to the 2004 sound explosion concert at church. they were also having a lock-in for the kids and the lady had asked me if i was staying for that. uncle rusty told her that i couldn't stay because i needed to get back home when kevin got off work. ;) uncle rusty provided us with ear plugs. haha. i've been needing some. now i have some cool bright orange ones. so, the concert was good, a little long, but good. we got back the same time kevin got home from work. he was supposed to get off at 10, but didn't get out of there until about a quarter to 11. poor love. he had a long day at work. not only was a guy trying to help him and making it harder for him, but there's a girl that won't leave him alone. poor, poor love.

saturday i had my love install my airport card. meanwhile, colleen came by and uncle rusty had started to put out his birthday stuff. my love got in the shower and meanwhile pat and fran got there. when he got out, he went straight back into his bedroom, so he didn't know what was going on. so after della and her daughters got there, colleen had me bring him out and we all told him happy birthday and has his party with food, cake, and presents. he even got to blow out his candles three times. wendy got there and we were glad that she was able to make it. my love had to go to work at 4, and so wendy and i went to kohl's, and it was my first time there. i bought a travel sequence game for my love and a blankie to leave there so i don't have to take mine back and forth any more. wendy and i stopped by longs to say hi to my love and he was out gathering carts. then, we went back and ate and drank egg nog before she had to leave. after wendy left, i scanned photos and waited for my love to get home.

sunday uncle rusty woke us up for church and we went and picked up colleen and went to church. she wouldn't let anyone shake her hand "because it's flu season!" and it was funny because the pastor coughed on his hand and tried to wipe it on her on purpose. fran had saved my love a seat (after telling him she would at his party) and she even saved me one too (even though she joked that she would save me one on the other side of the church). it was funny cause when we first walked in, we saw her shooing away these girls who tried to sit there. after church, uncle rusty, colleen, my love, and i went to eat at this mexican restaurant called celia's and guess who my love saw when he was coming back from the bathroom?? yep, that girl from his work that he's having problems with. and she even gave him a hug. ewwww! well, so that ruined his meal to begin with, but then the food wasn't all that good and we decided we wouldn't go back there again. we stopped by foster's freeze cause colleen wanted an ice cream and there was a funny sign inside that read "no eating or chewing gum in the front unless you have bad breath." we wanted to get a picture of it, but it was too far away. we got a good laugh outta it though. later we met uncle rusty and pat for a double date at the movies to see the incredibles. it was a pretty good movie. it had some really funny parts in it. afterward, my love and i went to get a bite to eat at the lone tree drive in, a chinese food restaurant uncle rusty and colleen had told us about.

today we slept in and like i said, my love skipped out on class so we could stay in bed and cuddle. we watched some episodes of chobits, and i made us fried egg sandwiches, since my love had craved them earlier. then, we left the house early so we could get some in-n-out before i had to leave, and then yeah, the train was delayed 2 hours and we had to sit out at the train station and wait that whole time...

so yeah, i'm glad i was able to spend time with my love on his birthday and i'm glad i got to spend his birthday weekend with him. i love my love. he's my special special and i love him very much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE!!!

TRAIN DELAYED: 2 HOURS

so, i was already worried that i had missed my train, but when half an hour passed by, i knew it should have been there by then. my love called amtrak and didn't have much luck. when the 718 came by an hour after my train should've been there, he asked the conductors if the 715 had gone by. the conductor said they had not passed it and that it was delayed because of some vehicle collision? well, i took that to mean that it had hit a car. as they were leaving, the conductor had his head out the train and said to call amtrak, which my love tried again. this time he got the right information and the recording said the train was delayed 2 hours 15 minutes and the estimated time of arrival would be 7:50pm. okay, so that didn't really match up with the 2 hours and 15 minutes behind schedule, since the train was scheduled to arrive in antioch at 6:01pm, but hey, i wasn't going to complain if it would get there sooner. i talked to mom on the phone and she said she heard that the train had hit a car near fresno and had been delayed. she had said that some lady had tried to go around the train things that go down when there's a train coming, but didn't make it and the train hit her and killed her. so... we waited and waited and then a little after 8pm, my love called back and was told the train was about 5 minutes away and actually should be arriving in under 5 minutes. well, it finally got there and i made my way to martinez. but then because we had to take the later bus, we had to wait for the other train to get there. meanwhile, the next train (717) came and wasn't too far behind the one i came on. so we waited in the station some, waited outside some, and then finally we got to board the bus and be taken to our destinations. it was 10:30 when i finally arrived in rohnert park in front of the ihop where wendy picked me up and brought me back.

so, wendy says i shouldn't do any more traveling, at least nowhere where i couldn't walk to.

i'm just glad i wasn't on the train when it hit that car.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LOVE!!!

yep, that's right, today is my love's birthday. he's 22 and catching up to me.

on saturday, uncle rusty threw him a surprise party and there was pizza, spinach dip, deviled eggs, and pat went all out and made egg salad, coconut fruit salad, and the best carmels ever! colleen made a homemade cake and even decorated it. my love's other gf, fran was there and she told me to look away while she gave him a hug. wendy even surprised my love and came all the way from school. it was too bad that my love had to go to work at 4. :(

sunday we went to the movies with uncle rusty and pat and saw the incredibles. uncle rusty made the comment, "you went on a double date with people older than your parents."

today my love and i slept in. he ditched class so we could stay at home and cuddle. we even got to watch some episodes of chobits... then, we got to spend a couple more hours together than usual because my train was delayed for two hours...ummmmmmm... yeah.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE!!

i hope you had the best birthday weekend ever!!!

-your love ;)

HALLOWEEN AND TIME CHANGE

and don't forget, tomorrow isn't only halloween, but time changes as well. so everyone, if you haven't already yet, set your clocks back an hour and get that extra hour of sleep.

remember when they had the time change on april fools? that would've been the ultimate april fools joke, eh? i mean, everyone would've fallen for it, right? but then again, that's my sense of humor...

nighty night.

KITTEN

AND WTF IS THIS???

From: Shadak Shari

This letter may come to you as a surprise due to the

fact that we have not yet met. I have to say that I

have no intentions of causing you any pains so i

decided to contact you through this medium .

As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for

me, because, I believe everyone will die someday.

My name is Shadak Shari, a merchant in Dubai, in the

U.A.E. I have been diagnosed with prostate and

esophageal Cancer that was discovered very late

due to my laxity in caring for my health. It has

defiled all form of medicine and right now, I have

only about a few months to live according to medical

experts.

I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I

never really cared for anyone not even myself but

my business. Though I am very rich, I was never

generous, I was always hostile to people and only

focus on my business as that was the only thing I

cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know

that there is more to life than just wanting to

have or make all the money in the world. I believe

when God gives me a second chance to come to this

world I would live my life a different way from

how I have lived it. Now that I know my time is

near, I have willed and given most of my properties

and assets to my immediate and extended family members

and as well as a few close friends and Schools in

the UAE. I have decided to give alms to charity

organizations, as I want this to be one of the last

good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed

money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E,

London and Ireland. Now that my health has deteriorated

so badly, I cannot do this my self any more. I once

asked members of my family to close one of my accounts

and donate the money, which I have there to charity

organization in Bulgaria, they refused and kept the

money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them

anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what

I have left for them. The last of my money which is

the huge cash deposit that I have with Financial

Firm Abroad .I will want you to help me collect this

deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations

and let them know that it is I Shadak Shari that is

making this generous donation.

I am writing this from my laptop computer in my hospital

bed where I wait for my time to come. I pray that God

uses you to support and assist me with good heart

God be with you.

Shadak Shari

NB: I will appreciate your utmost confidentiality in this

matter until the task is accomplished as I dont want

anything that will Jeopadize my last wish. and Also I

will be contacting with you by email as I dont want

anybody to know cos they are always around me.

BANGME THEN A BAKE SALE

so, today's class was actually well worth going to. i almost decided not to go, since we had a bake sale for the anthro club from 10-2. however, i'm glad that my anal feeling of "i have to go to class" won out because i got some good laughs in. so, two girls did their presentation on internet dating and another girl from class mentioned a site called bangme that's online that her friends use. so, since there was quite a bit of interest in finding out all about this site, we decided to devote some class time to visiting the site and checking it out. another girl got up and tried to type in the address, but a list of a bunch of porn sites came up and some had quite interesting names, not to be mentioned here. so, the girl that told us about the site called up her friend and asked her what the address to the site was and when we found this out, we went there and started banging girls, guys, two for one specials... she ended up calling her back and asking her what her and her boyfriend's screennames were so we could go check them out. we banged the two of them. the guys were pretty funny when they saw a girl they liked. and it was also quite interesting that when we saw someone with a cat, we would bang them because of the cat. well, this was such a hit that we continued it thoughout the break and then for a while after we came back from break until victor told us that we could spend five more minutes at it if we wanted to and then got to a point at which he allowed us ten more bangs, half of which were wasted away quickly. he finally got the the point that he said we had to choose the last one on the page we were at (even though there were only like three more pages) and so we went through almost the entire amount of people from san francisco, which was around 37 pages.

i found it to be quite interesting what kind of people other people were interested in banging, or even looking at. one of the guys liked younger looking girls (the ones that looked like they were 14 or 15 years old).

if you ever want some entertainment, just visit bangme.

okay, so our bakesale was kinda long for a bake sale, but there was so much stuff that people brought that there was just as much stuff when we cleaned up as there was on the table when they had set up. we sold quite a bit of stuff, but people had made and brought so much stuff that there we could've had another whole bake sale or two. so, i helped clean up, meanwhile missing group, but after everyone had taken what they wanted, there was still a box of goodies that we took up to the anthro department to leave. the cash box was closed and somehow locked with the keys inside, so we didn't get to find out how much we made. they called the locksmith up, but couldn't get ahold of him. just as long as we don't have to use the money to pay for a new cash box... hopefully someone will be able to get it open...

THE RIGHT KIND OF GUY

last night we had married couples as guest speakers in my development of the person class. they had some good insight to being married as well as some pretty funny and heartwarming stories. however, one of the most touching things said was actually by our prof during lecture. she was telling us about how she and her husband lived together before getting married and how he had sent his parents a picture of her and they didn't really like her much. she said that when he talked to them, he told them, "if you ever make me choose between dana and you guys, you're going to lose."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE UNCLE

today is uncle rusty's birthday. for everyone who doesn't know uncle rusty, he's the uncle that my love is living with. i'm glad that my love went to live with uncle rusty, because he's a great person. not only is he my favorite uncle, but he is one of my heroes.

i even told my love that he can't move anytime soon, because then i wouldn't get to go see uncle rusty all the time. you know what he said? he said that we could go visit, but not "every day."

so uncle rusty, have a wonderful birthday today!

CLASS, NO CLASS

so, i printed out my paper to turn in today and then went to class. well, two different ladies stuck their head in the door and told us that victor was going to be late cause he got a flat tire, so wait for him. well, the first one said to wait. the second said to start class without him. start class without our professor? umm... so, we sat there and talked to each other or whatever, passed around a sign-in sheet, and after we were there for over half an hour, one of the girls collected the papers and took them and the sign-up sheet to put in his box. meanwhile, most of us took off, and as i was walking back, i ran into victor and so i followed him back up to class along with two other girls from the class who we met on the stairs and then when we got back, there were still some people there, so we decided to talk about the measures on the ballot and then ran out of time before discussing all them.

so yeah, we ended up having class, but we didn't have actual class. yay!

I SURVIVED MY TEST... SO FAR...

so, i just got out of my forensic anthro test about 10 minutes or so ago and it wasn't too bad. that is, if i did it right. see, i don't know if i answered what she was asking. i guess i'll just have to wait and find out and pray in the meantime.

we also signed up for presentation topics and times. i signed up for the first date, which was listed as dec 6. but then i noticed that dec 6 was on a monday and i don't want to do my presentation on a monday. anyways, so i told her about it and she changed it to the 7th. i'm still excited cause i get to do my presentation on kennewick man.

anyways, now i have to get caught up in all the rest of my classes that i put off for this test. i have a paper due at 10 and i'm hoping to get that finished before i head out. otherwise, i'll have to remember to turn it in on thursday (with no late penalty of course).

WENDY'S BIRTHDAY

so, yesterday was my roommate wendy's birthday. happy birthday one day late wendy!!!

thursday night we told wendy that we were going to go out to dinner to celebrate her birthday, but we had really planned a surprise party at yael's at 7pm. well, so wendy, her friend jonathan, and i went grocery shopping before we were to meet and we took a super long time. we got more stuff than we've ever gotten before and jonathan ended up spending like $250 on groceries and stuff. he filled up a cart all to himself and had more stuff than wendy and i had in our cart that we were sharing. anyways, so not only did we take a long time in the store, but we took a long time checking out since we also had to bag all the groceries and then help jonathan take his groceries up three flights of stairs before we could come back and carry two loads of our own groceries and put them away all before getting ready to go to yael's. meanwhile, we were in touch with yael, who was becoming impatient and wanting us to hurry since they were hungry. so, after being like an hour or so late, since we had to wait a few minutes for jonathan, we finally made our way to yael's. we ate dinner and played two rounds of pin the tail on the donkey, which was lots of fun. yael made a homemade cake and we ate that and ice cream and then she had to kick us out since she still had stuff to do and then wake up super early to be in napa to watch four hours of surgery.

so yeah, that was wendy's surprise birthday party.

yesterday morning it was raining, ick. bri came by early so we could walk over to take the wept at 8:30am. the girl there scared us, but when we actually took it, it didn't seem to be so bad. bri and i ended up choosing the same question and writing similar things. anyways, so we finished that and hoped we passed and then made our way back to the apartment. by this time, wendy was up and she opened her cards and gifts and then we went to mcdonalds to get breakfast on our way to the city. well, it was raining and kinda bad on our way to the city, but we made it there alright and went to the exploratorium. that was fun. there was so much to do there, we didn't get to see everything, and if you ever go, might i suggest you don't look in the eyepiece that says to look in it and push the button that triggers a super bright flash of light. i accidentally pressed it a second time, which, one was enough to blind me in the first place and yeah, i couldn't see for quite a while after that. bri did it too and she had much the same experience that i had. wendy, luckily, did not do that one. but yeah, you might not want to do that one cause i ended up getting a bad headache between my eyes and after finishing the visual section that was way too visually stimulating, i felt dizzy and lightheaded. so, when we went upstairs, bri and i had to sit down and rest while wendy went and checked things out. when wendy had seen the things she had wanted, we decided we were wall hungry and went back downstairs to get something to eat. i got a hot dog, chips, and a soda. it was pretty good. i hadn't had a hot dog in a while. not since they had free ones here at school. afterwards, we made our way out and over to the japanese tea gardens, where wendy really wanted to go. we spent about an hour there and then came back to the apartment and had cake (a really yummy strawberry cake with strawberries that wendy helped me make and let me frost the day before) before bri had to leave for home.

so, i hope that wendy had a good fun birthday this year. we haven't even broken open the sparkling cider yet...

CAKE, FOOD, AND RENT

we had cake today at our anthro club meeting. karin's mom made a halloween cake with sprinkles and orange frosting. yum yum. so yeah, that was my lunch. well, then i was on my way to class when i ran into a bunch of tables set up with food from different clubs. i went to class, turned in my assignment and signed in, and then i left and got some garlic bread, chow mein, and a cup of horchata.

oh, and guess how much an apartment here costs per month...

no really... guess...

LAST WEEKEND WITH MY LOVE BEFORE TWO WEEKENDS WITHOUT SEEING HIM

so, this past weekend was the last weekend that i got to be with my love before these next two weekends that i'm staying here for wendy's birthday and halloween.

uncle rusty and pat picked me up at the train station on thursday and i got two hugs from uncle rusty since i didn't get my hug the week before. then, we went to eat at the olive garden where the girl there welcomed us and was telling her friend that uncle rusty and pat come in all the time and they're some of the best customers. when we got to the house, i found a surprise on the bed. my love had laid out a rose, card, fortune cookie, and two sweetheart candies (one said love you, the other said cutie pie) on the bed. i waited for my love to get home before i moved anything.

my love had friday off and we were thinking about going to the movies, but instead, we went to eat at red robin after class and then went back home.

saturday my love had to work. i made spaghetti.

sunday we went to church with uncle rusty and colleen and saw pat and my love's girlfriend, who thought my name was kim and gave us hugs. she especially wanted a hug from my love. afterward we talked to the paster a bit before leaving to eat at a mexican food restaurant close by. then, since it was aunty virginia's birthday, we stopped by the cemetary for a bit before going home. my love had to go to work at 3.

monday we went to school, got chili at wendys before going to in-n-out to eat, and by the time we got back, it was about time for me to leave. i was sad again though cause not only was i not going to see my love the next two weekends, but uncle rusty wasn't there so i couldn't say goodbye to him or give him a hug before leaving.

the train was close to being on time. the bus left on time. it got to rp on time.

wendy and i went by wal-mart again after she picked me up. she had to get a new printer and i picked up some food and ice cream, the oreo kind this time.

oh yeah, wendy's printer was only $35 and came with an ink cartridge and some photo paper. after realizing that this was less than it would cost for the ink, i told her that instead of buying an ink cartridge, she should buy a whole new printer when she runs out of ink. then, she could sell the printer on ebay. not only would it save her money by being cheaper, but she might make a few bucks out of it as well... just a thought.

I JUST GOT OUT OF CLASS!!!

so, i bet you're wondering why i'm posting a blog to my site at this time cause hey, you're saying, shouldn't she be in class now? well, i'm glad you're all asking, cause i got out early tonight. we had a quiz (it wasn't so bad), and since our prof accidentally slammed her hand in a trap door of some sort, she let us go after we finished the quiz. :-D

sooooo.... while it's messed up that she slammed her hand in the trap door, it's totally SUPER that we got out of class early!

SPENDING TIME IN BRENTWOOD WITH MY LOVE

i already miss my love, even though i was just with him this last weekend. i'm happy that i get to go see him in a couple of days though.

my love got to pick me up from the train station since he didn't have to work on thursday. we ate at carl's jr., where i hadn't eaten in quite a while. my love also had friday off as well and so we went over to walnut creek after class so my love could take his laptop in to be fixed. we ate at the california pizza kitchen and it was really good. plus, even though the waitress talked fast, she was nice and even told us how to say thank you in korean. we split a pizza and slice of cheesecake before going back to brentwood for colleen's birthday party that uncle rusty went all out on in planning and making nice. fewer people came than what he was expecting, so there was plenty of food, but it was nice. mostly family. on saturday, we went to blockbuster and rented girl, interrupted, which i had to watch for class, and the omega code, a movie about the bible code that kevin wanted to see. instead of paying the $4 per movie, we opted for the manager's special of two movies, two drinks, a candy, and a bag of popcorn. we chose our stuff out and paid and decided to eat the popcorn while watching the omega code. well, my love opened it up and several kernels fell out onto the ground. so, he threw those away and put the bag in the microwave for 4 minutes. well, we stood in front of the microwave for the last 2 of those minutes, noticing and wondering why no kernels were popping. when the 4 minutes were up, we took the bag out and noticed that there was no popcorn in the bag, only butter. so, after cracking up, we went back over to blockbuster, told the girl the story, and picked out another bag of popcorn, this time checking to make sure it had the actual popcorn in it. after the movie, kevin had to go to work and i read and worked on homework. sunday, uncle rusty woke us up and we went to church with him and colleen. afterward, he took us all out to the olive garden. i got the never-ending pasta bowl and couldn't even get seconds cause it filled me up. when we got back home, kevin had to get ready for work and so i watched my movie. on monday, we went to school and i got to eat my egg sandwich and then i worked on my paper and made a couple of duct tape wallets. when kevin got out of class, we went to the subway across the street and then by the time we got back home, it was about time for me to be taken back to the train station. :( but at least my love got to take me since he doesn't have to work on mondays anymore. however, i was still sad cause i didn't get to tell uncle rusty bye and i was leaving my love. anyways, it's only a couple more days and then the next couple of weekends after that i don't know what i'll do since i won't be seeing my love. at least it'll be wendy's birthday and then halloween. that should give me something to do...

GOOD IMPRESSION

so, i went by today and finally talked to tricia, the lady in charge of the office of campus life i needed to see to start updating the anthro club site. i asked her where i could get the university web policy to read before signing the papers and she told me i could find it online. so, on my lunch break, i found and read the policy and on my way to class, i stopped by and had her sign my paper. she was quite impressed that i had read it before signing it and bringing it to her. she told the other people there that i was the first and only person to ever ask about reading the policy before signing and bringing it to her. after class, i took the paperwork to IT and they set me all up. i just have to wait a couple of days for them to put it into the system.

DUCT TAPE WALLETS

i picked up some duct tape yesterday, the duck brand, both the grey and also red. i made myself a wallet last night out of the red tape. it turned out pretty well. i made another red one and a grey one today. if you'd like me to make one for you, they're $5 for grey and $6 for any other color. i'll try to upload some pictures of what they look like. you can email me here for more information.

GLAD THE WEEKEND IS OVER

this past weekend was a long, long weekend. i'm just glad that it's finally over. here's a better idea of what happened...

it started out on thursday as i waited and waited and waited for the amtrak bus. a black guy named levi came and waited with me. i got there about 4:10 since i rode the county transit bus and levi had gotten there about 5 minutes after i did. we waited until around 5pm and finally decided to give amtrak a call, not believing we had missed the bus (the bus NEVER gets there early). levi finally got through and after being put on hold for about 20 minutes, found out that the bus had broken down in santa rosa. well, by this time, it was going to be about impossible to make it to martinez in time to make the train. meanwhile, he called some friends and asked them if they would take him. when we found out that the bus wasn't coming and we were going to miss the train, levi asked me if i would like to catch a ride with them. he told me, "i know it might be scary riding with strangers, but we're leaving now, and if you'd like to come with us, we're going to the train station." i had no time to think, so i grabbed my stuff and followed him. he introduced me to his friends, well, his friend and his friend's girlfriend, who drove. we had to get gas and then we headed on our way. we were stuck in traffic around petaluma and levi gave amtrak another call to find out if we were going to make the train or not. they told us that they would be unable to hold the train, but that they'd find transportation for us somehow. well, we ended up missing the train by about 20 minutes and had to wait for 30 minutes to an hour for a cab to bring the people who had been on the bus that had broken down. the amtrak lady gave us both $20 vouchers to use for our next trip, which i can use this weekend when i go see my love and so it'll be free. ;) levi was upset and argued with her for a bit and she gave him a hard time since he isn't registered to vote. however, i was extremely grateful that they were still going to get us to our destinations that night (since that was the last san joaquin train that day). so, i bought a chicken salad sandwich at the food place at the station and waited for the other people to get there. when they did, i saw priscilla, a friend from high school who works as a manager at the theatre. she and her son were coming back from visiting her boyfriend at humboldt state and were on the bus when it broke down. from her, i found out that the reason the bus broke down was because the driver had backed up and hit something and kept going. it had scraped the oil pan and all the oil leaked out and broke down. they had to wait on the bus for about an hour before a cab came to get them. well, we finally loaded our stuff into the van we were to take and found that there was one more person than there were seats. the cab driver was going to make us squeeze four people in the back, even though three could barely fit, but then they decided to get a cab and send the two fresno people in the cab. however, we still had to stuff everyone in the van to get over to the cab station. everyone was hungry, except me since i had eaten, so we stopped at in n out to grab a bite to eat and then we traded drivers and levi went in the cab with the two ladies who were going to fresno since he was going to bakersfield and the cab was going to fresno and bakersfield. our van, on the other hand, was headed to hanford and corcoran and we got the other driver, who ended up being a really nice guy. i still don't know what religion he is from though. he had a long beard, wore an all white gown and clothes, a white hat on his head and he had beads around his neck that he held about an hour of driving as he either recited prayer or sang or something quietly. so, we took the 5, stopping at harris ranch to get gas, which was super expensive, about $2.37 a gallon. we only got enough to get us to our destinations, but we had to get some cause we must've been running on fumes. it was really empty. so, we dropped priscilla and her son and the other girl off at hanford, and then had to find our way to the corcoran station, where mom was waiting. so mostly we talked on the way from hanford to corcoran. we got there maybe 12:30?, 12:45? then had to drive to porterville. unfortunately, our driver had to drive all the way back to martinez, where his wife was waiting for him and he said he didn't want to get into trouble with her. so yeah, thursday was a long day.

friday morning, mom woke me up and asked me if i wanted to go to johnny's school with her since she had to hand out the band's sweatshirts so they'd have them for the football game that night. so, we got breakfast at mcdonalds and then headed over to cesar chavez high school in delano. the band room is so nice. the storage is wonderful. there's several large rooms that can be used as storage, a bunch of instruments that aren't even opened yet, and cubbies for instruments, backpacks, etc. some of the instrument cubbies look like animal cages. haha. plus, the kids were really nice. the band sounded awesome. we handed out the sweatshirts and then when johnny had to go over to richgrove, we went over there so mom could do some stuff there. i got to eat some cafeteria food at richgrove. it was good, too. it's all homemade, so it was better than the cafeteria food from elementary school and middle school. homemade burritos, salad, and homemade macaroni salad. yumyum! plus a cookie. a bargain for only $2. however, there were many flies in the bandroom and so we took turns swatting flies. we spent some time there and i helped mom with some lists on the computer. we didn't get home until around 5:30pm, and then we were off again to the carb up dinner for relay for life. it was also granite hills' homecoming game against monache, so there were lots of cars in the parking lots. the carb up dinner went well though, and then micah and stacey came and kidnapped me and took me to stacey's house. stacey's car died and so they got a pt cruiser, and i got to ride in it. ;) i also got to see mommy and meet papa, their new taco bell doggie. then, we went back to the high school and showed mommy their car and then they kidnapped me again and we went to denny's. we were going to go to the new black bear diner, which opened where ryan's used to be, but there was a long wait and so we went to denny's instead, where i got to see katie. we took stupid pictures with our phones, then finished and they took me back since stacey had to work in the morning.

saturday morning, woke up early, but not too early, for the relay and spent the entire time there. yes, i spent the night again this year, not like last year when mom sent us home for the night. but yes, i did get some sleep. i slept in the pc camp. the relay was really nice this year. i got to visit with angelica's parents, who even danced when nostalgia played. saw some friends and people i haven't seen in a while. saw lukie davis and dang has he grown. i even walked some with connie and tyler late at night. connie said something about anthropology and tyler told her to say that in layman's terms. well, connie's last name is layman, so she did say it in layman's terms. after that after any of us said anything, i would ask her to repeat that in layman's terms and she would say something funny. got to see mr. and mrs. osborne. nana came by during the day. she didn't want to jump in the bounce house with me so i didn't go. saw vince. walked some with susan regier and her son and talked to her. the lunch was kinda sorry this year. mom's entertainment lunch was better than the other. they only got half a sandwich a handful of pretzels, and a soda. we had a whole sandwich, bag of chips, candy, grapes, bananas, and a soda. dinner was pretty good though. it wasn't too bad. they raised a whole lot of money. a whole load...

on sunday, nate woke up the entire neighborhood with his "quiet" "easy to listen to" music that was SUPER loud. i walked some with paula and talked to her. the turnout on sunday was awesome. never has there been that many people on sunday. i have a picture if you would like to see... after cleaning up, which didn't take too long since we didn't have to take down the stage or canopies other than the pc one, mom, johnny, and i went to eat breakfast in springville before returning home and crashing for the day. at least that's what i did. i slept until my love called and woke me up and then i slept again until dad called and woke me up again.

monday went by the college and saw more people. went to the ptk meeting and they had cupcakes for rene's birthday, which was on the 2nd. i ate two cause mr. goode didn't want his. saw my best friend ke11y. i got my anthro club shirt from mr. osborne. saw my friend nickie that i had tutored. she had had a stroke and is recovering from that. we had a good conversation though.

anyways, we just finished watching some lesbian flick on tv. ya know, i have to watch something like that every once in a while. it turns me on.

MY WEEKEND

so, i spent another weekend with my love. ;)

he had to work, so uncle rusty and his girlfriend pat picked me up at the train station and then we went to the olive garden and had soup and salad. yael would be proud of me. ;)

on friday, we went to school and i had another egg sandwich. dang, i can't get enough of those. anyways, we ate at arby's after class was over and this time they didn't take my student advantage card. i think the guy thought it was a credit card. i couldn't understand what he said. my love had to work friday night too, so i watched television and worked on some of my reading and homework.

saturday came along and my love had to work.

sunday rolled around and guess what? my love didn't have to work. ;) we went to church with uncle rusty and then to lunch at mimi's. i had soup (corn chowder) and half a ceasar salad. again, yael would be proud.

this morning, we went to school and i didn't get an egg sandwich. :( instead, i got some beef stroganoff (sp?) over steamed rice. my love got out of class early, so we went to kfc/a&w. then, uncle rusty took me to the train station since my lov had to work again.

the train was 20 minutes late, the oakland train was 30 minutes late, so our bus had to wait for it, and then there was only one bus so we had to go to napa as well, which took even longer. all i wanted was to be back and go to sleep. i read some in the bus and then took a short nap.

kevin hooked his scanner up to my computer and i scanned most of the photos that i had with me. i will be adding those to my yahoo photos page soon. some might go up on my website as well, so be watching for them there, as well.

well, i can't remember what else i was going to add, so i guess it's about time to go lay down...

wait! i just remember what i was going to add...

my sister's train going back to sacramento from corcoran hit a person and they were delayed.

mom got a ticket for going like 13 miles over the speed limit. it was her first ticket in 50 years. the officer was quite impressed over that. however, she still got the ticket. she thought the speed limit was 65, but it was 55 and even told him when he asked her. dang, poor mom. no one ever goes 55 on that road.

latest teachings... don't think you can beat a train. it will run you over.

WHAT?!?

so, i know y'all must be wondering, what's she doing at her computer at this time? why isn't she in class right now? well, we had our osteology quiz, which yes, i did study for it, but let's just say i didn't study everything i needed to... umm... some of it was easy, some of it was hard. i guessed on some and hey, i think i got some of them right that i guessed on. yay for guessing! plus, some of my wrong answers at least can be some entertainment for my prof. ;)

so, i gathered up enough courage to finally ask my prof what the anthro club does (she's the advisor). they meet every other thursday in the classroom next door and they're meeting next thursday, so i'm going to go and find out all about it. she said usually they plan a field trip each year and some other stuff that i don't remember. anyways, i told her that i was in the anthro club at my community college and that it was a great club. she said that maybe i could bring in some new ideas. :) wow! so, once i get my anthro club shirt (when i go home next weekend), i'll have to wear it to show my spirit. ;)

UPDATES!

okay, for those of you who haven't been keeping up with my latest updates, check them out! i've updated my yahoo photos and you can see them HERE. also, i've been working on my website, so check it out HERE!

finally, i'm thinking about selling duct tape wallets and anti-dolphin shirts. you can find more about this on my website. right now i'm thinking about $5 for the duct tape wallets, $6 for color ones. please feel free to let me know what you think.

AGH! BANK

so, i went by the atm machine today and couldn't pull out the money to pay for my housing ($299), and so i went to pay it with my card. however, it didn't go through. dumb card!!! i guess i only have a certain amount available (a little over $100), even though i just deposited two $1000 checks a couple of days ago. whatever! it's my money and i want access to it! if the amount available never goes over $200, i'm going to have to get me an account elsewhere. i still don't have any checks yet, since i can't make it to a bank, and i'm going to have some rather large payments for school next sememster.

so, i went by the bookstore to pick up a mug for uncle rusty, since he drinks coffee. my love said i should get him the sonoma state grandpa mug, since he thinks of me like a granddaughter, but they didn't have any. they had mom, dad, and even grandma... so i just got him a sonoma state mug. they had a grand opening of "the seawolf shop" even though it's been open since i've been here and is just the bookstore. so that didn't make much sense. then, i stopped by the commons to get something to eat. it was my first time there and hey, not only do they have burgers and sanwiches, but they also have salad and the best thing of all, chinese food! i didn't feel much like chinese food, so i got a grab n go burger and fries. all for only $2.75! can you believe it? that's the best price ever! i'll have to go back. i'm already full and i've only eaten about half the food.

well, i'm excited cause i get to see my love tomorrow. i can't wait. i've misseded him so much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA

today is nana's birthday. she's old. i don't remember if she said she was going to be 72, or if she was and she turned 73 today. still, that's old. she's in good shape though. so good for nana. i haven't seen her in a while, but hopefully she'll come out to the relay and i'll get to see her then, even though she said she wouldn't jump in the bounce house with me. :(

well, have a happy birthday, nana. thanks for everything. ;) love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS, OR SHOULD I SAY JULIE J. SCOTT?

yep, today is my sister's birthday. she's 22 now, same age as me. i guess she didn't really have plans for her birthday. something about her friends all hating each other. ...and i thought my friends all hated each other. plus, when i called her, she was on her way to class... anyways, happy birthday julie. i hope your day was super.

REORDER

i reordered my social psy book. not only was it more expensive, but i had it shipped more expensively so it would get here sooner. it should be shipped out by wednesday and get here on or before the end of the month. i hope it gets here soon. meanwhile, i have that old text that victor let me borrow...

godspeed, textbook, godspeed.

MAIL DOES COME! :-D

so, i finally took the $1 check that i got when i opened up my account and deposited it in the atm. then, i went over to the tables outside of charlie brown's and sat there and read until laura came at 3 to interview me. she just needed some background information, like my name, age (which i did remember), siblings, and whatnot. mostly we just talked for about an hour and a half. and laura, if you're reading this, congratulations, you found my blog. ;) on the way back, i checked my mail and when i opened up my box, i had a whole bunch of envelopes in there. i had another blue ticket, but this time it was for a vegan packet i had sent away from (thanks to angelica), so on my way to the post office to pick it up, i looked through my other mail. i received my two scholarships, so now i can afford the rest of my housing payment and i'm not poor anymore. i received my apple bill, and the best thing of all, a card from my love. :D my love even sent me some money so i could come see him. yayayay! i get to see my love this weekend and now i have money to go see him next month as well!!! :D

i'm hungry and now i can actually afford to eat something! ;)

MY LOVE'S NEW JOB

that's right, you heard correctly, my love just started his job at longs today at 10am. he was supposed to get off at 2, but i guess they're short people and asked him to stay till 7. so that'll be good for his paycheck.

it's been raining off and on today so far. the sun is out now, but who knows, in a minute, it could be pouring again.

yay! i get to go see my love next weekend. i misseded him so much this weekend. i can't go another weekend without seeing him. i can't wait.

NO BOOK, BUT REFUND, LUNCH, PHONE CALLS

so, i received an email from the sender of the social psy book i ordered through amazon.com. she gave me a refund through amazon and i'm supposed to let her know if i ever receive the book. the only thing is, i still need a book, so maybe a miracle will happen and it'll come in the mail on monday. that or maybe my scholarship will come and i can get a new book.

wendy and i went to ihop for a late breakfast today. it was lunchtime, but we both got breakfast. it was nice getting out of the apartment for a while. i'm glad we went, even though i can't do stuff like this often.

i talked to alex last night. i gave him a call because it was his birthday and then was on the phone for over 40 minutes catching up with him. afterward, wendy and i ate a yummy vegetarian tater pot pie she made and watched runaway bride.

today i talked to dad, johnny, and nana. i hadn't talked to any of them in a while, so it was good to talk to them again.

well, now wendy, my love (even though he's not here with me:(), and i are watching cold case files cause we do everything together. that's right, we're a triple. ;)

29th San Francisco International Comedy Competition

i forgot to add this to my last posting, but last night, wendy and i went to the 29th annual san francisco international comedy competition at person theater here at ssu. it was free to us students, while general admission was $10. i think we got a pretty good deal, seeing that at some of the places they're performing, it costs up to $35. the runner up from last year was the host, and i still think that he's the funniest one. there were 15 comedians who each got 5-7 minutes to do their stand-up routine. then, the top five were chosen. it was a good, funny show, but it was three long hours, so we didn't get back until around 11pm. if you would like to find out more information or see where they'll be next, you can check it out here.

WAITING FOR MY BOOK

that's right, i'm still waiting on my book. it was supposed to be here by today at the latest, and of course it wasn't, so i emailed the sender telling them i still have not received my book yet. if it doesn't come by monday, then i can go sign up to be reimbursed. i hope it doesn't come to that though cause then i'm still going to need a book. that's another week or two for delivery for another book. anyways, maybe i'll just go leave the sender a very very bad rating. i mean, how freakin' long does it take if you mail it out on time? come on, it's not that hard to do.

anyways, i'm still waiting for my scholarship money to come as well. hopefully that comes before the i leave for porterville on the 30th.

anyways, i found this program that will let you download songs from your shared music on itunes. it's so great, plus, it's super fast! i'm just waiting for these two people to open up their itunes again so i can see what music they have.

AOL IS THE DEVIL!!!

that's right, you heard me correctly. now let me explain the reasoning behind my statement...

so, i go to my mailbox, and what do i find in there? a blue ticket, which means that i have a package at the post office, which by the way, is on the other side of the campus. so, i'm thinking, yay! finally, my social psy book has finally arrived! i mean, it's been forever now... anyways, so, i come back to my apartment, get my wallet, that has my id in it, and put my shoes on (i had my slippers on), and i walked at a brisk pace to the post office, all happy, cause my book had finally come. well, i get there and i give my blue ticket to the lady and show her my id. she goes back and gets not my book, but one of those stupid aol disks. i had to walk all the way to the post office for a piece of junk mail! damn aol! i hate them! so anyways, i've added them to my list of things that are the devil, and they're going up there toward the top of the list. probably just behind peoplesoft and citibank.

so, i guess i got me some exercise and a cool free plastic cd case, if i can get the stupid sticker off it.

i will never buy anything from aol now and i will never get their internet service. i just might send them an email telling them why not.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

TIRED

so, we took our field trip to the ASC faunal analysis lab on campus. it was about a 10 minute walk from class, but they senior faunal analysis guy had us gather around him and he told us some stuff about what they do there. i started to feel kinda bad and i just knew that i wasn't going to make it through the rest of his talk. i had to sit down and i felt a bit better. dang, i think i'm getting sick. that or i'm tired. or maybe both since i was almost falling asleep in my social psy class. but i started to feel better by then. maybe it was the air in that room or something. anyways, i got out early from my comp applications class. most of the stuff is stuff i do here on my own computer.

WATCHING TV

that's correct. i was watching tv this morning. after buying a longer cable and a power strip, wendy and i moved my tv, vcr, and dvd player into our room. so now it's just too bad for anyone who wants to watch tv out in the living room. now i only need a fridge and a microwave and i'd never have to leave the room.

uncle rusty gave me part of his toilet. it's in my backpack with my toothbrush. :-P

ANOTHER WEEKEND WITH MY LOVE :-D

i spent another wonderful weekend with my love this past weekend. i'm just sad that i won't see him again until next month. uncle rusty went to porterville for his 50th high school reunion. ford stayed with us. on our way to school friday morning, we passed by a really bad accident where four people were killed in laying in yellow body bags. there were news vans and everything. as we passed by, my love asked, "are those people in body bags?" since he was driving and couldn't get a really good look, i looked over and said, "well, they must be, cause there're feet sticking out of that one." when we got back home, my love looked up the accident online and found out that a car was speeding and went over into the other lane and crashed into a truck, killing four people who were riding in the front seat of the truck, and criticalling injuring a person sitting in the back and the driver of the speeding car (sidenote: now who rides four people in the front seat of a truck??? i mean, i've been squished between two other people before and we barely fit. how can four people fit?).

my love heard back from longs. finally! they received both his results and had him go in to fill out the paperwork. he starts on sunday in the back on the computer.

we went to target and got new pack packs since they were on sale 30% off. yay! my love and i both needed new pack packs. i've had my old one since i was in 8th grade.

sunday night we went by the grocery store and picked up a few things. when we got back, we made manwiches, my love made the rice-a-roni, and we heated up some corn. uncle rusty got back, and ford slept with us. i guess he got used to sleeping in my love's room while uncle rusty was gone.

monday we went to school. we had our egg sandwiches again, just like usual. by the time we got back, it was about time for my love to take me back to the train station. i was sad. :'(

so, now i won't be seeing my love again until next month sometime after i go down to porterville for the relay.

this morning we had a guest speaker, sgt. scott dunn from the sonoma county sheriff's department, in anthro class. thursday we're going to take a field trip over to the ASC faunal analysis lab. that should be fun.

got a call from uncle micah. couldn't call him back until after i got out of class, but he and stacey wanted to know if i could take pictures at their wedding for them. i guess it'll be sometime over winter break. it's about time they get married. they keep telling me that they already have...

so that's what's been up with me lately.

MY LONG WEEKEND IN PARADISE

okay, so maybe it was in brentwood, but it was with my love, so can you blame me? anywho, i miss my love so much (even though i just got back last night), that i've already made a reservation to go see him again on thursday. :-D ;)

we had a long, nice weekend together, and since my love had still not heard back from longs (the manager was on vacation for a week), he didn't have to work. he installed the memory in my computer and we watched some television. we also went to bed late and slept in late. uncle rusty was in and out a whole bunch. as we were leaving, he'd be coming, and he'd leave before we got back. we went shopping and my love did better this time spending only around $65 instead of $102, made some spaghetti with dad and shar's spaghetti sauce, took a $2.50 roundtrip ride on bart to walnut creek on sunday, and watched the csi marathon on labor day until i had to catch the train.

vicky picked me up in front of the ihop, which was nice of her.

i guess wendy had a nice weekend as well. she went rafting on the river in sacramento with yael and her friends. she didn't get back until after i did.

today was an early morning. ugh! after class, i came back and wendy and i both took a nap, even though wendy's was slightly longer than mine. i got my check card from mom in the mail, but i'm still waiting for my book, which i hope comes tomorrow, or i won't have it for the weekend to write my paper and will have to do it on the book victor let me borrow to use until i get mine.

well, i hope this weekend is equally as long. uncle rusty will be gone to his class reunion and i didn't want my love to be all alone. hopefully he'll be able to start work, since he had to retake his drug test, this time in tracy, and they're supposed to let him know thursday.

oh, and one more thing... as i was leaving, uncle rusty told us to drive safely and then told me to tell the engineer to drive the train safely cause his niece was riding on it. ;)

TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS

so, it's another day, and i've just talked to julia, the loan coordinator here at ssu and she confirmed that my loan is going to go through today and should show up tomorrow. this is grand, because it means i don't have to borrow the amount of the housing payment from mom that's due today and put her out for a while until i could pay her back. after my loan goes through, my account balance will only be $299, which will be for housing, which isn't due for a while, and i can then get my scholarship money i've been waiting for. one less thing to worry about. now all i can do is wait for it to show up on my account on the evil peoplesoft and print that out to send for my scholarship.

at noon, they had club day where the clubs set up tables out in the stevenson quad with information. the best part? the free food! that's right, they had free hotdogs, chips, cookies, and sodas for all. wendy and i went then she went to class at 1. i'm not really interested in joining any clubs. i think it's that i don't really want to become attached to anything here. i love the events. like today... it was great. the concert yesterday was a lot of fun, and there's a comedy competition that i want to go to later this month, but it's different joining a club and becoming involved in that. i did get a free book though. it's an advance reading copy (they were giving out a whole bunch) called Wild Animus by Rich Shapero. i'm going to read it when i have time to see what it's all about. but hey, it was free...

i stopped by the bank of america table that was outside today and found out that i have to go by the bank to pick out some checks, which is going to cost me some money, but i do need checks for a few things, so i'll have to order some.

i went by the bookstore this morning to pick up my book for my development of the person class and also three large blue books to be turned in next tuesday night. the book was $102! with tax and less than a dollar spent on the three blue books, my total came to a whoppin' $110.39! i don't even want to open the plastic wrap on my book, since i know once i have, the price will drop by at least half. thank god mom put money into my account yesterday.

my love gave me a call this morning while he was waiting for his class to start. i guess my memory is on its way to his house. hopefully either someone's home to get it or they leave it. but it should be here in plenty of time for him to install it in my computer and then make sure my office programs work, since i need word for an assignment due next week.

finished my reading for next week for my anthro class, so that's one less book i'll have to take when i go see my love tomorrow. :-D i can't wait! one more day till i'm with my love again! he still hasn't heard from longs yet, which is not good, but at least that means we can spend more time together if he's not working yet.

WAKING UP EARLY, THE MATCHES, AND BEING SCREWED OVER

so, tomorrow's coming up real soon, and it'll be the first of the month, which means that my housing payment is due. i'm so screwed if my loan, which STILL hasn't gone through, still hasn't gone through by then. the last date to pay for classes is the 8th, so i still have about a week for that, but housing is due tomorrow and i don't want to have a late fee attached. gaH! please please PLEASE go through loan! i went by financial aid today after class and they're supposed to give me a call tomorrow, so i have my fingers crossed. what a hassle!

the band the matches played today at noon. they jumped around a lot. i took some pictures, but they're on my phone and i can't get them off unless i get a cable or infrared. another gaH! i guess they just came back from playing the warped tour. i picked up their cd and had them sign it for me. guess i'll have to keep track of them now. one of my roommates, vicky, knows them. she's how i found out about them playing today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD MAN!

happy birthday amir! you old man you!

MY LOVE AND MY STUPID COMPUTER

my love just left. he spent the night and now he already had to go back home. i was so happy to see him though. it was well worth it. last night we got food at in n out and on our way out, this little kid screamed at me. it was super high pitched and loud. we just had to laugh all the way out to the car. we came back and ate and then played sequence with wendy. i won the first and last games and kevin won the second. wendy came in second place during the first game. my love installed office for me on my computer, but i can't use word, powerpoint, or excel until i get more memory. what a piece of crap computer i got. i can't even use the software i need on it without dishing out at least $50 more than i've already paid. this morning we slept in, probably since we didn't get to sleep until around 1am, and then we went to arbys to eat and came back here for a little bit until my love had to leave. but now it's only 4 1/2 more days until i get to be with him again and i really can't wait for then.

MY LOVE IS COMING TO SEE ME!!!

that's right, my love is coming to see me this weekend, and in fact, he's on his way now and should be here in a couple of hours. i can't wait, i can't wait! i'm so excited! it seems as though it's been a month since the last time i've seen him, even though it's only been about a week. i can't wait for him to be here, to be in his arms, and to give him a big hug and a kiss...

THE MADNESS OF THE BOOKSTORE

last night i went to amazon.com to see if i could find any of my texts at a very good price. i found the text i need for my social psy class for a mere $4.75, and with shipping and handling, it only came to $8.24, probably less than a quarter of what i would have had to pay at the bookstore, thank god!

so, i went by the bookstore today to pick up a book for my forensic anthro class. it was a frickin' $83.75. isn't that horrendous? it should be a crime. of course, i had to buy it new, so that didn't help at all. and then i checked the price on office for mac and since it was only $79.95, i picked up a copy of that too, and so for a total of two items, my receipt rang up for $175.98. gaH! now i'm just waiting for the first of the month so i won't be totally broke anymore.

on a happy note, i booked my train reservation to see my love on labor day weekend. so, i'll be leaving on the 2nd and coming back the 6th. i can't wait! it's less than a week now... :-D

A SEMESTER OF EARLY MORNINGS

so, although school starts tomorrow, i don't have class till thursday. i'm already beginning to wake up earlier. yesterday it wasn't even morning anymore when i got up, it was around 12. this morning was a little better, more around 10. tomorrow might be earlier yet to prepare for my 8am class on thursday. ugh! sometimes i wonder why i signed up for a two day a week 8am class, but then again, it's forensic anthro. can't beat that, eh?

still miss my love, but if things work out, i can see him over labor day weekend, and all for the train price of only $15.30. not too bad, eh? especially since that time last year, it cost me about $77 to ride the train down last minute to porterville. talk about UGH!

:(

i'm really missing my love. this is the first day since he came up here and saved me from the mean castle that i haven't seen him or spent the day with him. we were together every day over summer. every single day! i sure do miss my love, my hunka hunka burnin' love...

BACK AT SCHOOL

so, it's school time again, and i'm still getting situated and in the routine around here. i finally put some pictures of my love up on the walls. they were above my bed, but then we rearranged the furniture and now they're above my desk. so, it doesn't look exactly like yael's and my room last year.

i still haven't gotten to know the other roommates yet. hardly even see the girls on the other side of the apartment. we'll see how it ends up this year. they're all sophmores.

kevin started at chabot today. i guess his classes went alright. although he dropped his phone again and this time it cracked a little. then i guess since he couldn't take a pee earlier, he had to go back and take his pee in the little cup. isn't drug testing great?!

my financial aid hasn't kicked in yet and i'm worried about my classes being dropped. if i get dropped, i'm screwed! there's no way i would be able to get into them all again. i went down to the finaid office and found out the reason they haven't been able to process the paperwork is because the name i use here at the school is amy l. scott and my social security card has my korean name on it. now i have to change my name over to my korean name so the names match up and i can get my loan money so i can then get my scholarship money. ugh! the hassle!!

last night was BIG night. they had some bouncy air thingys and some other stuff. wendy and i went for a while, but we were still way tired and so we came back even before the live music started and before we got to the front of the line for the balloon guy to make us a cool balloon animal or thing.

well, i'm already ready to take a trip to visit my love. i just might over labor day weekend. we'll see about that.

FIRST AND LAST

today is mom's first day at porterville high school. it is also my love's last day of work unless his boss can convince him to work over the weekend.

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY...

a very happy birthday to setareh. if you haven't caught on by now, we went to see her this past weekend. plus, amir says i get first dibs on her if something ever happens to him. dang, then i guess she couldn't adopt me...

DRIVING SOUTH FOR THE WEEKEND

this past weekend was spent down south with friends and family.

friday: morining we headed to irvine to see amir and setareh. we probably got there a little after 2 or so. they took us to eat at a persian restaurant called caspians. kevin and i had chicken kabobs with rice and amir and setareh had lamb shank. eww. i didn't try any of that. then, we stopped by a bakery before amir took us on a drive through the campus. we went back to their place before we went to the irvine spectrum to look around. had a drink at jamba juice and then sat listening to a lady playing the guitar and singing for a while. she was taking requests, but none of us wanted to go up and ask her if she would play any eminem or blink 182. so we went to eat at red robin, since kevin wanted an A1 peppercorn burger. i got a green balloon. setareh tied it around my wrist. as we were leaving, kevin saw a barnes and noble and wanted to go look around. setareh went to look at some clothes when she found out he wasn't interested in the starbucks upstairs. amir and i went to look in a toy store meanwhile. after we left, we stopped by blockbuster and rented the movie honey, starring me. ;) haha... didn't get to bed till late.

saturday: woke up late. went out to breakfast at a french cafe. then, we walked through a farmer's market tasting some of the samples. amir and setareh picked up a few things. we got some peaches. went back to their place and got ready to leave for emily and bryon's. it didn't take us long to reach their place. we talked for a while and then we went to see around the world in 80 days at the bargain theatre, which was only $1 a person. even at night, the price is still only $1.50. i sure wish there were a bargain theatre closer to where i am. i figured you could go see every movie that's playing and it'd still be cheaper than if you went to see one movie at the regular theatre. after the movie was over, we went to eat at the elephant bar. i had a grill burger. then, we all split a cheesecake. yum yum. afterward, we went back to their place and although we were tired, only emily went to bed and bryon put on the movie enemy of the state and we watched that before going to bed.

sunday: emily and bryon skipped church to take us out to breakfast at a place called mike's. after eating there, we stopped by a huge thrift store, savers, and looked around there before leaving for palmdale and all the joshua trees... oh yeah, and i guess wendy too... we talked with wendy and her dad and played with her dogs harry and shadow until we got hungry and went to a burger place called tommies that had chili burgers and good fries. their milkshakes were the best though. kevin got a strawberry one and i had some of it. afterward, she drove us around to show us some of palmdale and lancaster. we even stopped by the 99 cent only store. when we got back to her place, we sat around and watched some tv with her mom, until everyone got hungry again and we had pizza hut and salad, made by wendy herself. pretty impressive, eh? jk. we left a little before 9 and made our way back home. we got back to porterville around 11:30.

so, it was a fun short little trip. it was nice to get away for a while and get to spend time with friends and family we don't get to see very often, although amir and setareh are planning to be in town this weekend for natalie's wedding... we'll see how that all goes...

THRIFT STORE SHOPPING

yesterday, my friend tracey and i went thrift store shopping and boy did we come back with a deal. first we went to the women's shelter thrift shop on mill. tracey found a sweater and i found a few books--an origami book for julie, house of sand and fog, and a book on shorthand. then, we went over to the sheltered workshop's thrift store where we made a killing finding books. there was a 10 for $1 sale on paperback books and between the two of us, we found 10 books. got a great tony hawk book that looks brand new and was originally $15, a couple of books by erich fromm--escape from freedom and zen buddhism and psychoanalysis, plato's the last days of socrates, jung's analytical psychology, and the age of analysis, a book of 20th century philosophers. i also found two more hardback books on shorthand, a statistics text, and an adventures in english literature text to add to my american literature book. i also found a jacket for 50 cents and a pair of nippers for mom for another 50 cents. all those finds for only $4, not too bad, eh? afterwards we had lunch at jenny lynn's where i haven't been since david took us. i almost forgot how good their hamburgers are. later, kevin came by and took me to see the manchurian candidate at the theatre. we missed about the first three or four minutes, but not enough to make that much of a difference. good movie, but he left to go to the bathroom during the only scary part of the movie, which was when they showed his dream of the scary people with stuff on their faces. or maybe i just get scared too easily.
